An update from Hannah.....

Flood1

Many of you have probably heard of all of the flooding in the capital city of Bangkok. There has been a lot of news coverage for the big city. But Isaan hasn’t escaped the floods. Many people in the province of Roiet cannot leave their house. And due to the focused attention on the capital the government hasn’t been able to help the people of Isaan. This came to the concern of some local youth.

Flood2

This past week, Porn, Lek, and several other teenagers from YWAM Thailand Mahasarakahm and local church youth groups, banded together to aid those in need. First they met at the base in YWAM Mahasarakahm to pack the goods. They stuffed bags full of Mama Noodles and bottled water. Samuel’s house was able to help donate some noodles.

Flood3

Then by boat they made the trek into Roiet. Packed with people and goods travel was difficult into the flooded area. Once there they were able to distribute the packages the people and families in need. It was a real blessing for everyone, lighting smiles on peoples face.

But since the area is still flooded, and people are still in need, we are looking for opportunities to return. We would like to visit the people there, and continue to be a blessing. Please keep the flooding in Thailand in your thoughts and prayers, as this is a valuable opportunity to spread the light and love of Christ!

Piglets Mushrooms

Our micro-businesses - pig and mushroom farming - are doing really well. We have had numerous litters of piglets over the past years and have been selling them for a tidy profit.

The mushroom farm has really taken off and we have scaled up (as you can see from the pictures). Hannah, Nehamee and Koh have been doing a great job.

Thailand_Flood

Flooding in Thailand during this year’s monsoon season has killed more than 200 people and affected at least two million more. Weather forecasters say Thailand’s monsoon rainy season this year has been the most severe in 50 years. A weather forecast predicted widespread heavy rain in the coming days. Further flooding was tipped in provinces already affected - in areas close to major rivers, such in the Central region; and in the Northeast.

At Samuel’s House, there has been heavy rain for the past two weeks. Flood waters have inundated the local bus station and markets. A lot of neighbouring rice farms have also been destroyed by the heavy rain and flood waters.

Please pray for Thailand.
